About
Discover a pickup built from two classic voices with the Seymour Duncan SH-16 '59/Custom Hybrid bridge humbucker in Reverse Zebra, available at Irvine Art and Music. By combining one coil from the '59 Model with one from the Duncan Custom, this hand-built pickup blends vintage chime with modern grind in a single bridge humbucker.
Two Pickups, One Coil Pair
The '59/Custom Hybrid pairs mismatched coils with an Alnico V magnet to create a medium-output bridge pickup with bright, chimey upper mids and a tight low end. Players get added harmonic content and midrange bite on top, while still being able to clean up the tone by rolling back the guitar's volume for a wide range of usable sounds from clean to high gain.
Built to Last, Wired for Flexibility
A nickel-silver short-leg bottom plate and vacuum wax potting keep the pickup stable and resistant to squeal under high-gain use, while the 4-conductor shielded cable allows for coil-splitting into a more distinct single-coil voice. Each pickup is hand-built in Santa Barbara, California.
Overview:
- Alnico V medium-output humbucker designed for the bridge position
