Paul De La Rosa is a freelance musician and educator in Southern California. A native of Long Beach, Paul attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, receiving his bachelor’s degree in music performance. He will be graduating from California State University Fullerton with a master’s in music performance. Paul has a passion for music education.

He has spent a decade building and cultivating music programs throughout Southern California in districts such as ABC Unified and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He has taught all levels from transitional kindergarten to university. As a freelance musician, Paul has performed in venues like Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Seoul Performing Arts Center in South Korea.

Currently, Paul is the associate principal trombone for the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra and will be performing with the San Gabriel Symphony in the spring. De La Rosa loves collaborating on new projects. Recently he performed with the Mina Choi Big Band and Julie Morimoto's album entitled "Start of Something Beautiful: Mix tape vo. 1". Mario Martinez is a Mexican-American trumpet player and educator based in the Los Angeles area. He has performed at Southern California festivals, including the Carson Jazz Festival, and at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. with ICYOLA. Around Los Angeles, he performs with his quintet, the Mario Martinez Collective, sharing a love for jazz through Swing, Bebop, Hard Bop, and Cool Jazz.

As an educator, Mario teaches students in Gardena, CA, ranging from age 7 to adults. He also offers private in-home lessons, adapting to each student’s needs while providing quality music education. His teaching supports absolute beginners learning their first instrument, as well as novice students building confidence and preparing for the next chapter of their musical journey.

Mario studied Music Performance at the School of Arts and Enterprise and is pursuing a Music Education degree at California State University, Dominguez Hills under Dr. Kathleen Janert. He has also studied with Jay Jennings and Teodross Avery and performed with the Southland Wind Ensemble, Southland Jazz Ensemble, and Loyola Law School’s Orchestra.
